I have been lucky to have spent my career practicing medicine at the Broadway Clinic. I appreciate its history, with 80 years of continuous care to the people of our region. I enjoy the fact that we provide comprehensive primary care for all ages and multiple types of insurance, that I can quickly evaluate a patient’s concerns with laboratory and imaging available on site, and that the clinic is still small enough to respond independently and effectively to trends and changes in medicine.
I believe that most of what I need to know can be learned by listening, that each individual is indeed uniquel and that one size does not fit all, and that common sense often makes the most sense. I take time to educate when needed, to review treatment options and try to always take in to consideration patients concerns and thoughts. I believe that scientific study is the only way to evaluate the real value and potential harm in any action and I tend to be skeptical of the initial claims made by proponents of different remedies.
The joy of medicine is in the interactions with patients and other providers. It’s the patients that make you smile, keep you on your toes and keep one motivated to provide the best care possible. Medicine affords me the great privilege of intimate knowledge of others concerns and problems and the great reward of significantly helping them on a one to one basis.
Outside the clinic I am fortunate to have a wonderful wife (who also practices at the clinic) and three great boys. I enjoy cycling, hiking, history and genealogy and can be found at Timbers and Thorn games frequently.
