Colorectal Cancer Screening for Adults (Ages 45 – 75)

Your good health is important to us. If you are between the ages of 45 and 75, regular screening is the key to preventing colorectal cancer and finding it early.

Below are two options available to you.

Colonoscopy Stool DNA Test (Cologuard)
Uses a scope to look for and remove abnormal growths in the colon/rectum Finds abnormal DNA and blood in the stool sample
Colonoscopy Advantages:

  • More accurate test
  • Could treat problems found at the same time
  • If normal (no polyps found), typically done every ten years
Cologuard Advantages:

  • Easy to use
  • Done at home
  • No diet or medication restrictions
Colonoscopy Disadvantages:

  • Preparation required, 1-2 days
  • Must be performed by a specialist
  • Safe procedure, but a small risk of complications
Cologuard Disadvantages:

  • Takes time to collect a sample
  • If Negative result, repeat every 3 years
  • If Positive result, will need a colonoscopy to complete the cancer screening
