Coronavirus and You: How You Can Help Stop the Spread of Illness

Broadway Medical Clinic is carefully monitoring the rapidly evolving Coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak. If you have symptoms of a respiratory illness, such as fever, cough or shortness of breath, please call our office (503) 249-8787. For the latest information regarding Coronavirus (COVID-19), please see the “Be Informed” section below:

Here are a few simple ways you can help stop the spread of illness:

1. Be informed.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), Multnomah County, The Oregon Health Authority, American Academy of Pediatrics, and the CDC.gov facts sheet all offer great resources and regularly updated information about COVID-19, including information specific to at risk populations.

If you think you or a member of your household may have been exposed to coronavirus, contact a medical provider right away.

2. Wash your hands.

Mom was right! Frequent, thorough hand-washing is your first line of defense when it comes to slowing the spread of illness.

What does proper hand-washing technique look like? Rub your hands together using soap and warm water for at least 20 seconds, making sure to go over every surface and under fingernails. If soap and water aren’t available, use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer.

3. Get your flu shot.

Flu season is well under way, but the worst of it isn’t over yet. It’s not too late to get a flu shot. Call us today to schedule yours: 503-249-8787

4. Feeling under the weather? Stay home.

If you’re sick, try to avoid going to work, school or other public places where you could expose others to illness.

5. Cover your sneeze, please.

If you do have to cough or sneeze, be sure to use a tissue and dispose of it immediately. And always remember to wash your hands.
