On Wednesday, June 15, 2022, the first step in the process of making COVID-19 vaccinations available to young children occurred. The advisors to the FDA unanimously voted to recommend both the Pfizer and Moderna vaccines for children ages 6 months to 5 years. This does not immediately make these vaccines available, however they may be available as early as next week if the rest of the steps in the process move as quickly as they are expected to.
